Wilson launches its new Defy padel racket range

  • February 14, 2025

Wilson introduces the Defy range, a series of three padel rackets designed to suit different playing styles and skill levels. This collection is endorsed by one of Wilson’s top players, Javi Garrido, who will use the Wilson Defy Pro V1 racket to take on his new challenge alongside Martín Di Nenno.

These rackets stand out for their sleek aesthetics, elegantly blending black, gold, and white tones. However, their true distinction lies in their cutting-edge technology, designed to enhance any player's performance on the court.

With the new Wilson Defy collection, the American brand presents one of its most significant innovations, three models that share the same mold but feature specific technical characteristics to meet the needs of all types of players.

Javi Garrido’s new racket is designed for offensive players who like to attack the ball and dominate the game. Featuring a diamond-shaped mold, medium-high balance, a Power Foam core, 15K carbon fiber faces, and a weight of 370 grams, the Wilson Defy Pro V1 delivers exceptional power and acceleration.

This racket also incorporates state-of-the-art technologies, such as a high-thickness carbon tubular construction that enhances durability and provides a superior feel and control with every shot. Additionally, the I-Beam structure increases frame stiffness in the central area to generate more power in offensive strokes. The racket’s neck design features a more aerodynamic geometric structure for improved maneuverability.

Finally, Wilson has meticulously worked on the rough texture of its new rackets, enhancing spin effects while introducing an innovative hole distribution. The Duo Grid Hole Pattern includes larger holes at the top for more powerful shots, while smaller holes at the bottom offer better grip and control for defensive shots and volleys.

Like the Pro version, the Wilson Defy V1 also features a diamond-shaped mold, medium-high balance (265mm), and advanced technologies such as the Aeroexact Design bridge, I-Beam, Spin Texture (rough surface), and Duo Grid Hole Pattern. However, this racket presents some differences that provide a distinct playing experience.

In this case, the racket’s faces are made of 3K carbon fiber, a lighter and more rigid material that allows players to generate greater ball speed with less effort. Naturally, it is slightly lighter than the Pro V1 model (365 grams), making it a more manageable racket with an added touch of control.

The Wilson Defy LS V1 is the lightest and most maneuverable racket in the collection. While it maintains the same diamond-shaped mold and similar features, its key difference lies in the material of its faces. As the name suggests, Confort Flex is a softer and more flexible component, reducing its weight to 355 grams. While it still delivers excellent power, this model is exceptionally comfortable and provides outstanding touch on every shot.

The three rackets in the new Defy collection are now available on Wilson’s official website, as well as through its distribution channels and retail stores.
