The year 2025 marks a special anniversary for two French icons in sports and tourism: Babolat and Club Med. Both brands are celebrating their 150th and 75th anniversaries, respectively, while also commemorating 20 years of collaboration. This milestone presents an opportunity to renew their partnership around racket sports and unveil new joint projects for tennis, padel, and future generations.
A historic collaboration reinvented
In 2005, Babolat and Club Med joined forces to offer tennis enthusiasts an exceptional sporting experience: tennis lessons taught by certified GOs and equipment provided by Babolat, all integrated into Club Med Resorts' all-inclusive offerings worldwide. In 2021, the first padel school within a Club Med Resort was launched in Seychelles. In 2025, this collaboration celebrates 20 years of providing thousands of vacationers—both beginners and experts—the best conditions for enjoying tennis during their holidays.
This anniversary is marked by a double celebration: Babolat’s 150th anniversary and Club Med’s 75th. To mark the occasion, an event was held in Lyon at the Appartement-Boutique Club Med, where Gino Andreetta, Managing Director of Resorts Europe-Africa at Club Med, and Éric Babolat, President of Babolat, highlighted the significance of their 20-year collaboration and unveiled new joint projects for the future.
A new focus on padel and the next generation
During the event, both brands reaffirmed their commitment to continuing and strengthening their collaboration around padel and programs aimed at young children. One key project is the launch of the Babolat Junior Padel Pedagogy program, an initiative designed for children as young as four years old, introducing them to padel in a fun and educational environment. This program will be gradually rolled out across selected Club Med Resorts, further enhancing the existing padel offerings.
"Babolat and Club Med share a spirit of innovation, boldness, and relentless energy that drives us to constantly evolve and help our customers excel in their racket sports. We have never hesitated to take risks and push boundaries -especially in technology- to enhance the enjoyment of players in a fun setting. Babolat and Club Med offer innovative experiences designed to improve people’s lives, their fitness, health, and overall well-being," emphasized Éric Babolat, President of the brand.
Additionally, Club Med is investing in new infrastructure to meet the growing demand for this sport:
Gino Andreetta, Managing Director of Resorts Europe-Africa at Club Med, underscored the importance of this alliance: “This partnership is the result of a shared vision and a common passion for racket sports. Babolat and Club Med are two pioneering French brands driven by the same goal: placing sports and well-being at the heart of the customer experience. Our synergies will continue to enrich Club Med’s all-inclusive sports offerings in the coming years, and we are excited to continue this journey together.”
Tennis and Padel: cornerstones of Club Med’s sports offerings
Since its inception, Club Med has placed sports at the core of its all-inclusive vacation experience. Tennis, the original focus of the 2005 collaboration, remains a staple in Club Med resorts. In 2024, 36 resorts offer tennis facilities, totaling 225 courts across key destinations such as Marrakech La Palmeraie (Morocco), Punta Cana, Michès Playa Esmeralda (Dominican Republic), and La Palmyre Atlantique (France). Meanwhile, padel is available in 12 resorts, including Magna Marbella (Spain), Gregolimano (Greece), and Les Boucaniers (Martinique), with a total of 49 courts.
By integrating both sports into its all-inclusive offerings, Club Med reinforces its position as “the world’s largest sports school,” enabling guests to discover or improve their skills in an exceptional environment.
