Last Wednesday, May 23rd, the Málaga Trade Fair and Congress Center (FYCMA) hosted the first edition of the Padel World Summit Awards, which were presented during the Gala Dinner of the Padel World Summit, the largest global event for padel professionals.
A total of 8 awards were presented at the Padel World Summit Awards:
HONOR AWARD
This award is given to an outstanding and historical figure in the sector, in recognition of their invaluable contribution. The award was presented by Alex Ponseti, managing director of the Padel World Summit, to Enrique Corcuera, son of the man considered the inventor of padel.
BEST STAND AWARD
This award is given to the most creative and innovative stand at the Padel World Summit. Jaume Ferrer, technical secretary and coordinator of the International Padel Cluster, presented this award to Ariel Robado, co-founder of MejorSet, a company dedicated to the development, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of padel courts.
SUSTAINABILITY AWARD
This recognition is awarded to the sustainable company or project that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the environment. Jorge Gómez de la Vega, president of the International Padel Cluster, presented the award to Mon Garrés, marketing director of AFP Courts, a leading company in the manufacture of padel courts that prioritizes compliance with sustainability standards.
INCLUSIVITY AWARD
This award is given to the company, association, or project that has excelled in the inclusion of people with functional disabilities in padel. The award was presented by Julio Alegría, the first president of the International Padel Federation (FIP), to Manolo Bueno, adapted padel instructor of the "Pádel Para Todos" Association (ASPADO), a non-profit association pioneering in adapted padel, whose goal is the integration of people with functional diversity through padel.
INNOVATION AWARD
This award is granted to companies or projects that present creative and innovative products, services, or processes for the padel sector. Marcos del Pilar, founder of the Pro Padel League, was responsible for presenting this award to Juan Moro, CEO and co-founder of Padel Tech, a historic company in the manufacturing and installation of high-quality padel courts.
BEST STARTUP AWARD
The winner of the Best Startup Award at the Padel World Summit was chosen by the jury of the Investor Forum, assessing innovation, technology, and growth potential. José Ramón Flor, co-founder of The Mother Trees, presented the award to Adrià Torrent, founding partner of Aiball.
BEST COURT PROJECT AWARD
Este reconocimiento se entrega al mejor proyecto presentado en la licitación para poder instalar una de las cinco pistas presentes en el Padel World Summit. Enrique Corcuera entregó el galardón a Fran Pérez, fundador de Padel Galis, empresa dedicada al diseño, construcción e instalación de pistas de pádel.
PREMIO AL MEJOR PROMOTOR DEL PÁDEL
This award is given to the company, association, or individual who has contributed the most to the growth and promotion of padel practice in recent years. Ignacio Soto Borja, co-inventor of padel, presented the award to Pablo Carro, co-founder and CCO of Playtomic, a leading Spanish application for the booking and management of padel matches.
It's worth mentioning that all the Event Partners of the Padel World Summit received a plaque of appreciation for their contribution to the realization of the first Padel World Summit.
