On July 11, during the IV Extraordinary General Assembly, which was held online and attended by a notable number of members, the new Board of Directors of the International Padel Cluster (CIP) was announced, with a mandate lasting four years.
The Assembly began with an address by Jaume Ferrer, the CIP’s technical secretary/coordinator. After reviewing the minutes of the last assembly, held on March 12 in Málaga, Ferrer announced that only one valid candidacy was submitted to occupy the Board of Directors of the Cluster, and therefore, this candidacy was automatically recognized as the new CIP Board of Directors.
Next, the new president of the Cluster, Mireia Álvarez, took the floor, expressing her gratitude to the outgoing president, Jorge Gómez de la Vega, highlighting his courage in taking on the role during a challenging period for the sector. For his part, Gómez de la Vega thanked all CIP members for their support during his tenure as president. He also mentioned the need to make way for younger individuals, given the significant challenges ahead for padel on an international level, though he offered his support to the new Board and made himself available to them.
Subsequently, Mireia Álvarez presented the new CIP Board of Directors -composed of eight members from the previous board and four new members- which is configured as follows:
After presenting the new Board of Directors, Álvarez outlined the main objectives of their term:
It is expected that in September there will be news about the second edition of the Padel World Summit
It should be noted that some of these objectives were already mentioned in the III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Cluster, as the new Board of Directors includes eight members from the previous one, reflecting a continuity in their profile.
