FITUR Sports announces its third edition to define the future of Sports Tourism

From January 22 to 26 at IFEMA MADRID, FITUR 2025 will host the third edition of its section on sports tourism, organized in collaboration with Spain is Sport - AFYDAD (Spanish Association of Sports Equipment Manufacturers and Distributors)

FITUR announces the third consecutive edition of FITUR Sports, having established itself as a must-attend event for professionals in sports tourism. Organized by IFEMA MADRID y SPAIN IS SPORT - AFYDAD, the section will leverage the synergies of the International Tourism Fair from January 22 to 26, 2025.

Following its first two editions, it has emerged as one of the strongest areas within FITUR, becoming a national and international reference for specialized events, consolidating the connection between tourism and sports as a driver of socioeconomic development. FITUR Sports aims to promote knowledge exchange through a robust conference program and create business opportunities. To this end, the content will revolve around three main themes: Outdoor Sports, Competitive Sports, and Sports Events & Sports Business Travel.

Additionally, FITUR Sports has successfully engaged key public and private stakeholders, including the Consejo Superior de Deportes, Turespaña, OMT, CEOE, ADESP, various sports and tourism federations and professional associations, as well as important sponsors.

FITUR Sports 2024 spanned five days, with three professional days featuring 30 sessions, 100 speakers, and over 20 hours of content, attracting more than a thousand daily visitors, plus an exhibition and networking area set up on a padel court. Moreover, the streaming sessions surpassed 8,000 online views over the three days, demonstrating the high interest generated by the quality of the program.

FITUR Sports 2025: Highlights and Program Preview

Following the success of the previous edition, FITUR Sports 2025 will repeat the format of three professional conference days and roundtable discussions from January 22 to 24, with exhibitions and activations for the general public over the weekend.

Six months before the start of the International Tourism Fair, FITUR Sports announces a preview of its third edition's program:

  • Wednesday, January 22: Outdoor and Active Sports Tourism. The first day will address emerging dynamics, destination management, product development and experiences, sustainability, marketing, and commercialization.
  • Thursday, January 23: Professional and Competitive Sports. The second day will feature discussions led by experts on team sports, training camps, tournaments, golf, elite athlete needs, competition team travel, medical travel, and trends in sports tourism resorts and equipment.
  • Friday, January 24: Strategies, Impact, and Legacy of Sports Events. The final professional day will cover topics such as sports spectacles and large participatory events, ticketing and VIP corporate hospitality experiences, Sports Marketing Travel and MICE & Sports (corporate travel in the sports sector), as well as synergies between brands, retail, and sports tourism.
