The Professional Padel Association (PPA) has taken a fundamental step towards its growth and to become the Association of all professional padel players. From now on, any professional player, regardless of the circuit they play on, will be able to join the PPA to defend their rights and interests as professionals. In this way, the PPA intends to continue with the progress and professionalization of padel.
The PPA positions itself as the only entity actively protecting the rights of professional players, moving towards the standardization of the professional calendar. The development of this agreed-upon calendar would increase players' freedom and opportunities to choose the tournaments in which they participate, while improving their ability to plan the season, with the goal of further professionalizing the sport of padel. This is an effort to organize professional padel through the players themselves.
Under the slogan ‘The Home of Professional Padel Players’, the association aims to bring together the interests of professional padel players worldwide with the goal of working alongside all stakeholders in the padel world to continue growing and evolving the sport.
According to Álex Ruiz, president of the PPA: “It’s time for our association to take a step forward so that all of our fellow players feel represented and supported. We want the PPA to have the influence it deserves within the padel industry, to be heard, and to play an active role in decision-making. It should be very clear that we, the players, are the main actors and that we seek what’s best for our sport.”
