On October 23, the 2024 ISF Gymnasiade kicked off in Manama, Bahrain, an event organized by the International School Sport Federation (ISF), an entity linked to the International Olympic Commitee (IOC). The 2024 ISF Gymnasiade brings together more than 3,600 students from 71 countries around the world, competing in 26 different sports. For the first time, padel is one of them, with around 50 athletes from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Chile, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Mexico, and Hungary. This debut marks a new connection between padel and the Olympic dream.
The ISF Gymnasiade is an event that, beyond competition, represents a convergence of youth, talent, and a spirit of cooperation. These values are strongly promoted by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and national federations, for whom the NextGen is the foundation upon which to build the future of padel.
Padel's debut is scheduled for Friday morning, with matches continuing until Tuesday, October 29. There will be a single rest day for all disciplines: Sunday, October 27. On that day, the sports program will pause for Cultural Day, during which athletes will explore Bahrain’s sights and culture, and for Nations Night, where each delegation will have its own stand to present their country. It will be a unique opportunity for exchange and camaraderie among the young athletes, following the principles and values of Olympic sports, with padel gaining another exceptional platform to captivate audiences and attract new fans from all corners of the world.
