Gijón se estrena como anfitrión del mejor pádel del mundo. Del 24 de febrero al 2 de marzo, la ciudad acogerá el Gijón Premier Padel P2, la segunda cita del calendario del Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour en 2025 y la primera en España.
The event is backed by the City Council of Gijón, through the Municipal Sports Board, reaffirming its commitment to elite sports and the international promotion of the city. The Mayor of Gijón, Carmen Moriyón, joined Joan Cuscó, President of Octagon Spain, and Aitor Jiménez, Executive Director of the Tournament, at Fitur 2025, where they formalized the agreement for Premier Padel's arrival in the Asturian city.
The iconic Palacio de Deportes de la Guía-Presidente Adolfo Suárez has been chosen as the venue for this highly anticipated tournament. This marks a significant moment for Gijón residents, who will have the chance to witness the world’s top padel stars competing for the first title of the year, in Spain.
Following an outstanding 2024, with major tournaments in Sevilla, Málaga, Madrid, Valladolid, and Barcelona, Spain once again finds itself at the epicentre of the padel world. The Gijón Premier Padel P2 will kick off the country’s 2025 calendar, with additional confirmed stops in Málaga (July 14th–20th), Valladolid (June 23rd–29th), Madrid (September 1st–7th), and Barcelona (December 8th–14th).
