Bea González, one of the best padel players, wears the Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch to monitor her training on a daily basis. She usually keeps data from even friendly matches to herself and her team, but she recently made an exception, thanks to which padel fans can now discover where the Spanish player's dominant style of play comes from, and at the same time understand the phenomenon of the discipline itself.
The training match that Bea González recorded while playing with her Amazfit Active 2 lasted over an hour and a half and allowed her to burn 630 kcal. With the active effort, however, lasting five quarters of an hour. Of that, over half an hour, the Spaniard played in the fourth and fifth - the highest - heart rate (HR) zones.
The high intensity of the workout is evidenced by Zepp App. The heart rate dropped below average only six times, and only for a moment, because the game quickly sped up and was played at the anaerobic threshold, when the metabolism increases and the body begins to draw more energy from glycogen. This effort, with a heart rate between 157 and 182 beats per minute (Bea González's maximum HR is 197), lasted almost 35 minutes.
During training, González's heart rate increased not only during fast movement around the court, but also as a result of strong strikes. The Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch recorded 290 ball strikes. Of these, Bea González played 154 forehands and 136 backhands.
"The beauty of padel comes from the dynamics of the game, which at the top level requires both technical and powerful strokes, quick reactions and very good motor coordination. And my training matches are like that, which was perfectly recorded by Amazfit Active 2. During such trainings, I work out what I later want to show during tournaments with the highest stakes" explains Bea González.
